While we were at the base camp, there was this large group of students from a Gwalior college (eighty-four of them - they trekked in two batches) who had just returned after the trek. Manoj aka Michael would be the entertainer of the crowd. So at the camp "fire" (campfire is what you call everyone sitting around a few dimly lit bulbs) they would enact a TV interview with the just-returned trekkers:

Q: "So Michael, which was the most unforgettable place of the trek ?"
A: "Yankar"
Q: "Yankar ? And ?"
A: "Bhayankar"
(Roaring laughter from the audience.)

Michael and friends are said to had quite a tough time at the higher camp. Since they were the early group, they had a lot to withstand of snowfall throughout the trail and that made things harder. By the time we reached Yankar, the snow in these places had started melting. It looked muddy too.

Tents, on thick snow.

Here, some of the tents are built on few feet thick snow.
