Speedbar is Love.

Suddenly noticed that speedbar displays the current stack when you are within the GUD mode inside Emacs. And you can walk up and down the stack from speedbar, with the source and debugger buffers in the other frame. Wooohoooo!

Eight Megabytes And Constantly Swapping may be older than I am, but it never fails to spring up a surprise. Everyday.

Never used the speedbar much because I hardly write any C code these days. But yeah, emacs never fails to surprise. Love. :)

Speedbar is still useful to browse directories and the info pages. Love, yes :)

Let's start a riot! Let us show him how powerful we are! Let's set all the Vim-houses on flame!

(Laughs, comes back from hiding...)

But I suspect we are fewer in numbers, though mightier in strength :D I'd love to hear what [livejournal.com profile] phoe6, [livejournal.com profile] appaji and [livejournal.com profile] knutties has to say on this.

Vim for me anytime. I prefer plain alphabets (j,k,l,h,w,e) to control sequences. Emacs might be all powerful, but Vim for me anytime. My attempts to learn Emacs have sent me back to Vim repeatedly :) But I will win one day.

I immediately looked for an equivalent in vim :) Should be there.. If general filebrowser then :vsplit|Explore and O on each entry. gdbvim? :) at vim.sf.net One of my friend used to say about emacs. He knew how to enter it. By typing 'emacs'.usually they had this program in the path. But for exiting emacs, he used to open a new console and kill the process! :) hahaha.

I did that to "vi" the first time. The vi through a serial console on SCO Unix. That was a different SCO. And the memories have a certain charm.

Of course, I hate C++, IDEs, and debuggers... C can be debugged with printf alone!

I don't mind (almost) anything that brings food on the table. Even C++ :)
